The Community

Game development is more than just creating games–it’s about creating communities. We value the gaming community immensely and we are always seeking to give back in any way we can. Take a look at just a few of the communities and causes we support.

Watsi is a nonprofit healthcare crowdsourcing platform that enables individual donors to directly fund medical care for individuals in developing countries without access to affordable medical care. We collaborate with our partners and clients to help give back to patients in need.

This is Geek is a 501(c)(3) non-profit. Their purpose is to host affordable educational and social events in the pop culture and gaming industries. They also strive to promote events and organizations with similar interests, in order to expand and educate the fandom community. We helped sponsor This Is Geek’s 2D Con gaming event.

Stack Up is a veteran charity dedicated to supporting the men and women of the military through the use, support and donation of video games worldwide! We helped donate free digital game downloads to troops away from their families during the holiday season.

Button Mash MKE is a gaming collective helping local charities. They have raised over $20,000 for Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin, primarily through their annual marathon stream, the Button Mash Bash. We sponsored and donated keys for the event.

TIGA (The Independent Game Developers’ Association) is the network for games developers and digital publishers and the trade association representing the video games industry. Their core purpose is to strengthen the games development and digital publishing sector. They achieve this by campaigning for the industry and helping members commercially. Black Shell Media is proud to be a member of TIGA.

Extra Life unites thousands of players around the world in a 24 hour gaming marathon to support Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. Since its inception in 2008, Extra Life has raised more than $30 million for local CMN Hospitals. We streamed for 24 hours in December 2016 and raised over $1500 for local children’s hospitals.
